Solomon-Adugna-Yeselam Law Firm (S.A.Y) was established in 2023 by the merger of three Law Offices established and operated by each of the Partners independently who were practicing law from 2010 onwards. Now pulling their vast experiences and expertise together, S.A.Y focuses on the specific needs of corporate and individual clients and works dedicatedly to provide them with the best legal solutions.
The Firm’s office locations have been strategically selected across two sites to enhance client accessibility. One office is located in the Golagul building near 22 Square, and the other is situated in the bustling Bole Medhanealm district, on the 6th floor of the S.A Building. This strategic placement ensures convenient access for clients in these areas.
Solomon Mulugeta
Solomon Mulugeta, the Senior Partner at the firm, brings 17 years of experience to the legal field, with 14 of those years as a Practicing Attorney. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB) in 2006 and his Master’s in Law (LLM) specializing in Business Law in 2009, both from the renowned Addis Ababa University. His expertise lies in Industrial and Business Law.
Solomon has a strong track record of representing a variety of corporations in legal disputes across both federal and regional courts. He is also deeply involved in drafting and reviewing contracts to ensure they comply with Ethiopian laws, along with providing legal counsel on civil law matters. His client portfolio includes SIZ Agri Tech PLC, Meditranean NGO, Roots Ethiopia, Ayana Marbles PLC, Eden Rose PLC, PressOn Engineering, SH Steel Manufacturing, Luxor Manufacturing PLC, Mald Educational Support PLC, Yom Educational Institute PLC, Milkomi PLC, and Date Manufacturing PLC. Specializing in corporate law, Solomon has represented numerous corporations and organizations.
As a member of the Ethiopian Bar Association and the Ethiopian Lawyers Alumni Association, Solomon is well-integrated into the legal community. His skills are further enhanced by completing trainings in Arbitration and Mediation, and ‘Capital Market & Securities’, positioning the Firm advantageously for the upcoming introduction of the Financial Market Sector.
Adugna Tessema
Adugna Tessema, a partner at the firm, graduated with a Bachelor of Laws from Saint Mary’s University in 2007. He served as the Head of the Justice Bureau for Nefas Silk Lafto Sub City in the public sector until 2017. Since transitioning to private practice, he has represented a variety of clients, including notable firms such as Luhanna Engineering Construction PLC, LEC Engineering PLC, Matiket Trading PLC, Concord Industrial PLC, and Hundket Trading PLC.
Adugna specializes in Property and Land Law, guiding corporate clients through complex land lease and administration matters at both regional and federal levels. His proficiency in Affaan Oromo, alongside Amharic and English, is a valuable asset to the firm.
Yeselam Zena
Yeselam Zena, a partner at the firm, earned his Bachelor of Laws in 2006 from Mekele University. With 17 years of experience since October 2006, he has been practicing as an attorney since December 2014. His client roster includes ZTE (H.K) Limited Ethiopia Branch, Ethiopian Spring MB SC, Citadel Construction PLC, Zplash PLC, Perfect Real-estate and Mall S.C, Waryt Wood Works, Waryt Mulutila International PLC, Soul Wellness Center, Yeshi Colosseum Construction PLC, Benisia Construction PLC, Juventus Italian Sport Club, and VF Services Ethiopia PLC.
Yeselam has also enhanced his expertise through trainings in General Banking, Labor Relations Management, Advanced Supervisory Management, Corruption Prevention Strategies, and Leadership and Change Management. He specializes in Tax, Banking, and Finance Sector law.
